1. Who is responsible?

This notice covers the website and initial contact. An engagement may involve additional agreements concerning client files, confidential information and BIT2’s role.

2. What information, and why?

If you get in touch, BIT2 uses the information you provide, such as your name, organisation, email address, telephone number and message. This is needed to answer your enquiry and discuss a possible engagement. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in handling business enquiries, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract or performing a contract, where applicable.

The form on this website opens your email programme. The entered details are not sent to a BIT2 server through the form. BIT2 receives the message only when you send the email yourself. Share only what is needed to understand your question at first contact.

To provide and secure the website, hosting and infrastructure services may process technical information such as IP address, time, requested page, browser and error messages. This serves the legitimate interest in an available and secure website. Legal obligations may also require certain information to be retained or disclosed.

Google Analytics is loaded only with your consent. This service processes usage information such as pages visited, interactions, device and browser characteristics, referring websites, approximate location and cookie identifiers. This helps BIT2 understand how visitors use the website and where it can improve. The legal basis is consent.

3. Cookies and local storage

On your first visit, you can accept or reject analytics cookies. Both choices are equally straightforward. Without consent, the Analytics code is not loaded. You can still use the website if you reject them.

Your choice is checked for validity on a subsequent visit. Once it expires, we ask for consent again. If you reject or withdraw consent, the website attempts to remove existing Analytics cookies on this domain. You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser.

Google Signals and ad personalisation are disabled in the website code. The site does not send contact-form content to Analytics. The explicit page settings omit query parameters and fragments from the page address and referring URL.

The hosting service may also use strictly necessary mechanisms for security and access control. These are managed by that service. Fonts and images are loaded from the website itself. LinkedIn is an ordinary external link; there is no embedded LinkedIn feed or advertising pixel.

4. Who receives your information?

Service providers process information to the extent needed for their role: the website is delivered through OpenAI Sites and its infrastructure, messages through the email service in use, and optional statistics through Google Analytics. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to handle a dispute.

Service providers may process information outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Such transfers require appropriate legal safeguards, such as an applicable adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. BIT2 does not sell your personal information. This website does not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

5. How long is information kept?

Contact details and correspondence are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry, maintain agreed follow-up contact and deal with any obligations or disputes. Relevant factors include the purpose of the contact, the duration of any engagement and applicable statutory retention requirements.

The table above describes storage periods in your browser. These are not the same as the retention periods for information held by Google or the hosting service, which depend on the type of information, service settings and any legal requirements. 6. Your rights and choices

You can request access to, correction or deletion of your personal information. Depending on the situation, you can also ask for restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest.

You can withdraw consent for Analytics at any time via ‘Cookie settings’ at the bottom of every page. From that moment, this website stops further Analytics measurement. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing; you can send BIT2 a separate request about information already processed.

Send a request to jw@bit2.nl. Include enough information for us to handle your request; please do not send a copy of your identity document unless asked. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority or another competent supervisory authority.

7. Security, links and updates

BIT2 takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. The website uses HTTPS. No security measure can eliminate every risk. External websites, such as LinkedIn, apply their own privacy and cookie policies when you visit them.
